I love the color combo of pink and brown and white, and I wanted to try stamping a sentiment over a butterfly. I love how this turned out, and I'm inspired to try something like this again. The tiles in the background are from a new backgrounder that Cornish Heritage Farms released last week called Fuchsia Tiles.

Do you love CHF stamps? Stay tuned for an exciting announcement from CHF in a couple of weeks. You won't want to miss this!! :-)

QKR Ragdoll Love

Are you ready for a sweet ragdoll card this week? :-) I used this cute Best Friends image from QKR Stampede along with the "Love" sentiment (from the "Love, Faith, Hope" set) for this sweet and feminine card. I was just in the mood for a red and pink card, and I added a touch of brown to offset all the pink-ness.

The image is colored with Copic markers, and I used some retired Stampin Up designer papers for the background layers. Don't faint now, but I actually tied a bow on this card! Yes, ME!! I'm not a "bow" gal, but this card just needed a bow, dontcha think?? LOL

Belli #92 - Sketch #2 and Flat Bellies

Happy Wednesday! Today is Belli Challenge day, and this particular belli proved to be a real challenge for most of us Belli Girls. We are using our special Belli Sketch #2 AND incorporating flat bellies with it. What's a flat belli? Anything that is flat - stickers, ribbons with NO knots and NO bows, punched cardstock, glitter, etc... No bumpy embellishments are allowed with this challenge. :-)

For my card, I added layers of lace and then ribbon over the top of the lace for my flat bellies. I used a whole lotta Killer Red Tacky Tape to make sure my lace and ribbons stay good and stuck on my card.

The old-timey looking Newspaper Ads is a wonderful Scrapblock from Cornish Heritage Farms, and I also used their Classic Essential Expressions for my sentiment. I sponged some Tea Dye ink over the edges of the stamped Newspaper Ads, and I randomly splotched some more Tea Dye ink on the lace.

When I showed this to my husband, he said "Cool! It looks like a garter belt!" ROFL! I did NOT intend for this to look like a garter belt, but ya know, he's
right. How serendipitous that I used the anniversary sentiment on this!! :-)

Wanna see more artwork from the Belli Girls? Head on over to the Belli Blog and see what they have created for you today. If you play along and upload your artwork to a public gallery, please use keyword CBC92.

QKR - Wordy Butterflies

Have you seen this Love Faith Hope set over in the QKR Stampede store? I had to have this as soon as I saw it, and here are some quick and simple cards using each of the four words.

I love seeing sets of cards in different colors, and that is what I've done here. I chose to use some bold summery colors - Olive, Pumpkin, Teal, and Riding Hood Red from Stampin Up. The butterfly is die cut and then dry embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder. I stamped each word and then punched it out with an oval punch and matted them with a scallop oval punch.

Instead of using pearls or bling for the butterfly bodies, I decided to go bold and chunky with large clear buttons. I tied them with some tiny white ribbon (1/8") and adhered them with glue dots.

I hope you head over to QKR Stampede to see all the great stamps they have in their store. It's so much fun to browse through all the different categories. :-)

Cappella Serenity

I saw this sketch on my friend Robin's blog, and I thought I'd try it out. So I pulled out my Thomas Kinkade Scriptures I set and my new Basic Grey Cappella paper pad and made a big ol' mess tonight. LOL

I didn't have any cardstock that looked just right with the patterned paper, so I ended up making my own. I sponged some Bundled Sage and Forest Moss distress inks over the edges of my Simply Smooth White layers. The ribbon is from May Arts, and I used a Bow Easy to make the double bow. Love that Bow Easy!

I'm still on a big bookmark kick after creating some for the big Creative Cuts and More Blog Hop on Monday. I absolutely LOVE the die cut Tag #03 Large with Layer - so perfect for bookmarks. For the following creations, I wanted to go with fun and bright to provide something different from my sponged "nature" bookmarks earlier this week.

Inchie Rainbow of Butterflies

I have found that being challenged to make inchie cards really inspires me to try things outside my normal scope of stamping. I am loving the inchie sketch challenges that Lisa is posting on the Inchie Inklings blog. Here is my card for Inchie Challenge #6.

I stamped the French Script backgrounder with a soft brown ink first, then I cut my inchies apart. I stamped a small butterfly in the center of each inchie and colored it with Copic markers. Then I sponged some distress ink around each inchie to match the color of each butterfly.

QKR Cowgirl on Rocking Horse

Did you have a rocking horse when you were little? I sure did. Mom says I used to rock on mine all the time til I was almost asleep and she would run to catch me before I fell off the rocking horse. LOL

This sweet image is called Lil' Cowgirl from QKR Stampede. I used some retired Stampin Up paper with this great peeled bark background with this card along with some hemp twine and rustic wooden buttons. The cowgirl image is colored with Copic markers, which took me less than 30 minutes to color, even with all the shading. Such a cute and fun image to color!

The sketch is from Mary Jo's Technostamper blog - #TSSC122. I modified the oval panels a bit so they would fit my cowgirl image, and I used the larger buttons for the four circles at the bottom. Fun and different!

Flowers in the Chicken Wire

Cornish Heritage Farms released a beautiful new sentiment set yesterday called Thomas Kinkade Expressions. I was in the mood to make a romantic, old-fashioned card with a country-ish feel to it with one of the sentiments.

I cut an oval frame using two different sizes of oval dies and some lightweight chipboard. The frame was painted with crackle paint and left to dry.

The flowers already had those wonderful dark purple speckles/splatters on them, so I wanted to incorporate that into my sentiment. I loaded up a paintbrush with water and dipped it into some of the purple ink and then flicked it over the sentiment.

I didn't have the right shade of purple cardstock, so I sponged some purple ink onto the edges of the white cardstock. That's my little trick when I can't find the cardstock I want - make your own colored cardstock. :-)

There are more gorgeous samples in the CHF gallery using this new stamp set. Go check them out here and enjoy the beautiful eye candy this weekend.

By the way, the Chicken Wire backgrounder is on sale right now, and you can get a FREE stamp when your order is over $25. But you will have to hurry - this offer ends next Thursday, May 20. Click here to get started. Happy shopping!

QKR "It's a Boy Thing!" Blog Hop

Welcome to our QKR Stampede "It's A Boy Thing" Blog Hop! Didn't Ceal have a great project on her blog? If you didn't come here from Ceal's blog, please start at the QKR Stampede blog and hop on through to see all our manly samples.

If you get lost or one of the links is broken, don't worry. Simply hop back to the QKR Stampede blog to see the complete list and make your way back through the hop.

For my card, I used this manly bear who is trying to decide which tie to wear. This image is called All Tied Up, and the sentiment is from the Happy Birthday set at QKR Stampede. I stamped the bear with black ink and then colored him with Copic markers. I made his little suit a traditional blue/gray color, and then colored in the ties so that they don't exactly match his suit. Hee hee hee! At least I didn't give him an electric pink tie! LOL

Have fun hopping through this masculine blog hop today. Hopefully we have given you some great inspiration for your own manly cards. To purchase any of the stamps you've seen on this blog hop, you can go shopping at QKR Stampede. When you leave a comment on each blog in the hop, you have a chance to win a FABULOUS prize! You could win a $25 gift certificate (with free shipping) to QKR Stampede! How awesome is that prize? Be sure to leave a comment on each blog - that will increase your chances to win!

Now it's time for you to hop on over to Jenn's blog. Have fun!

Belli Challenge #91 - hole punches

Welcome to Belli Challenge #91! Our challenge this week is to use hole punches. You could find your old punches that you used for setting eyelets way back when, you could punch tiny holes with a needle/pin/thumbtack for paper piercing, or you can use regular handheld punches to make holes for your brads to slip into. I chose to use my 1/16" handheld punch so I could add some brads to my card.

See that adorable little puppy? Our sponsor this week is Sew Many Cards, and they have tons of adorable digital images in their store. I used this Hershey with stocking image to make a Christmas card. I needed a little push to get started on my Christmas cards for this year, and here it is. :-)

The image is colored with Copic markers, and I used some retired Stampin Up holiday papers in the background. The sentiment has some brads on each side, and I also added some brads underneath the sentiment after punching the holes with my handheld hole punch. I used the TESC112 sketch from Taylored Expressions - perfect for the image and for adding some hole punches to my card!

Let's see what you create with hole punches this week. When you upload your card or project to a public gallery, please use keyword CBC91. Add your link to the end of the post on the Belli Blog so we can see your creation. You could win five FREE digital images from Sew Many Cards!

Buzzing By scenic card

I stumbled onto this challenge over at the Embellish blog. We have to use four colors (seafoam, terra cotta, green, and brown) and dimensionals on our projects. With that in mind, I pulled out my gorgeous silhouette weed stamps from Rubbernecker and started stamping them all over a sheet of vanilla cardstock.

The weeds needed something buzzing around them, so I pulled out my Bee-Mail set from Renaissance by Design and added some bees to the scene. Once I was sure the brown ink was dry, I sponged the terra cotta, green, and blue inks onto the cardstock. Not knowing what "seafoam" was, I opted to use my Bermuda Bay ink from Stampin Up. It was the closest match to the color on the challenge blog. :-)

For my dimensional requirement, I stamped the sentiment (also from Bee-Mail) and cut it out with an oval Nestabilities shape. While it was still in the die, I sponged some blue and green ink very lightly around the edges. There are dimensionals on the back of this sentiment so it pops up off the scene.

To be honest, I never would have put these colors together, much less used them, if it wasn't for this challenge. Now that I've created this card, I love how this came together. I kept this card embellishment-free so that it will be easy to mail. Gotta love those mail-able cards!! :-)

Gypsy Tiles

Lisa issued a fun inchie challenge over on the Inchie Inklings blog, so of course, I had to give this one a shot. It was easy and fun to put this together. The only hard part is having the patience to line up all these tiles just right. I tried the ruler trick that Lisa shared, but it just confused me even more.

Here's the little trick that I figured out. By sheer luck, for my background I chose a patterned paper that had tiny little rows of dots on it. I used these dots to help me line up all my tiles. :-) So that's my tip for the day - if you want to try this sketch, be sure to pick a background paper that has rows of something (lines, dots, words, etc...) to help you line up all the inchie tiles.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

QKR - Flower Pot Girl

It is in the 90's here in Texas and some of you folks up yonder are getting snow this week??? Crazy weather, I tell ya!!! LOL

We planted some flowers last week and this sweet image from QKR Stampede reminds me of the fun we had putting the flowers into the pots and setting them up by my front door. The name of this image is "Planting a Flower" - appropriate, huh?? I picked my papers first and then colored the image with Copic markers so that they matched the colors in the papers.

You could use this adorable image for a birthday card or a Mother's Day card or even a "just a note" type of card. Wouldn't it be fun to give this card away with some potted flowers to a dear friend or neighbor? I love to use images like this that can be used for so many different types of cards.
